Mary Cecilia was selected as a fellow for The Royal Court’s Writing for Performance Caribbean Fellowship.

Working alongside an incredible group of West Indian playwrights and storytellers, she furthered her stagecraft, conceptualizing and realizing her magical realist slave play, Blood In De Roots.

The fruits of their labour took the stage at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica with a staged reading co-hosted by the University of the West Indies and The Royal Court.
